The Mysteries of Southern France

Itinerary:

• Day 1, ARRIVAL. Saturday June 27. We will pick you up at Toulouse airport and take you back to our charming villa in Couiza, where we will have a welcome dinner at La Confluence in the evening. There will be a talk about the area and its history.

• Day 2, RENNES-LE-CHATEAU. Sunday June 28. We will visit the world famous Esperaza market and then proceed to the mysterious village of Rennes-le-Chateau, popularized by the discoveries of Henry Lincoln which then spawned the content in Dan Brown's DaVinci Code. We will enjoy dinner in Rennes-le-Chateau, the land of mystery. 

• Day 3, MONTSEGUR. Monday June 29. We will take a morning visit to LaFontaine de Fontestorbes. From there we will have a guided walk to the castle Montsegur, and then a lunch in the village. In the evening we will return to Couiza for an evening meal.

• Day 4, TEMPLARS. Tuesday June 30. We will visit the scenic town of Collioure where we will have lunch. After lunch we will visit the Templar Commandery of Mas Deu, where we will have a wine tasting. Toward evening we will return to Couiza for dinner. 

• Day 5, RENNES-LES-LEBAINS. Wednesday July 1. After breakfast we will visit the Coustaussa Castle, the Capitelles and then explore the castle of Arques. We will spend the day in the lovely village of Rennes-les-Baines, ending with a dinner there.

• Day 6, CARCASSONNE. Thursday July 2. After breakfast we will visit and explore the UNESCO medieval city of Carcassonne where we have lunch. Toward evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner and winetasting at Domaine Gayda. 

• Day 7. DEPARTURE. Friday July 3. Departure from Couiza. We will provide transfer to the Toulouse airport.
