The Colossi
of Memnon
The huge statues known as the Colossi of Memnon are not really depicting the Greek god by that name, but instead are likenesses of the mighty pharaoh Amenhotep III. They stand before the devastated remains of his temple, one of the largest in Egypt before it was ruined. Pictured here Larry and Mohammed stand before the statues as if they were the ones larger than life!
